Founded by Curtis Sliwa on on 13 February 1979 in the South Bronx, the Guardian Angels are a multi-racial team of volunteers organized to protect citizens from street violence. This poster—part of an early attempt to offer their services in Canada—appeared in the Vancouver, BC area in the early 1980s. A portrait of Sliwa wearing the eye in a triangle emblem can be found on their website at guardianangels.org.
