THE PENTAGRAM
.
Baphomet imitators
(Appendix 1)
LUCIFER | VENUS | SATAN’s SYMBOL | ÉLIPHAS LEVI | ALEISTER CROWLEY
The Baphomet is not a masonic symbol, nor is it worshiped by freemasons. It has no traditional relation to the pentagram or hexagram, nor the Goat of Mendes, nor Pan, nor the Green Man.
1. Note the substitution of the pentagram in the forehead with a hexagram. "Bouc de la goétie Basphomet, the goat incarnation of the Devil. After Éliphas Lévi, from a pen drawing in a French occult manuscript La Migie Noire (Black Magic), nineteenth century."

Devils, Demons, and Witchcraft, Ernst and Johanna Lehner. 244 illustrations for artists and craftspeople. Mineola, New York : Dover Publications, Inc. 1971 ISBN: 0-486-22751-0. p. 24.
