Morris Kominsky (1901-1975), Communist candidate for Governor of Rhode Island in 1938, has assembled a battery of factual responses to many hoaxes and falsehoods of the American 1950s and 60s. Author of only this one book, Mr. Kominsky’s research is quoted on a number of websites dealing with Scientology and antisemitism. Collections of his papers are deposited with the Southern California Library for Social Studies and Research in Los Angeles, and the American Jewish Archives in New York.

The Hoaxers
Mr. Morris Kominsky has written a well researched and documented text on the willingness of many right wing Americans to distort and falsify history. His main interest is in refuting any number of hoaxes and frauds perpetrated in the 1950s and 1960s against communism. His obvious disdain for the American political right, and his credulity regarding the intentions and actions of twentieth century Soviet and Chinese regimes should not be allowed to detract from the results of his solid researches. Although an interesting study, in the light of current history much of his work is more of academic interest than anything else. While uncovering a litany of falsehoods though, he has also revealed and refuted a number of attacks on Freemasonry and Judaism.
A preface notes that this is the first of a two-volume study, the second entitled America Faces Disaster. This does not appear to have been published.
