John Hendry
[John Hendry]
January 20, 1843 - July 17, 1916
Developing saw mills and export markets as well as promoting railroad construction, British Columbian lumber industry pioneer John Hendry promoted the Stave Lake Power Company and served as a director of the British Columbia Sugar Refining Company. He also found time to serve six month as mayor of New Westminster in 1889.
Born in the district of Belle Dune, Gloster county, New Brunswick, and living for some years in the Washington Territory before settling in New Westminster, his mother lodge is unknown. He was interred at Mountain View Cemetery.
