CONGRATULATIONS
To one of British Columbia's most beloved Freemasons, R.W. Bro. J. J. Miller, on his elevation to the rank of Knight Commander of the Temple, conferred by the College of Honours of the Sovereign Great Priory of Canada, Knights Templar, at the Annual Convocation, Aug., 1945.
The story is told of J. J. (he even tells it himself), that on one occasion many years ago when making an official visit as D.D.G.M. to a country Lodge in New South Wales, Australia, the Brother guarding the door, somewhat overawed by the appearance of a resplendent figure in full evening dress, elaborate regalia, breast covered with jewels, flowing red beard and striking personality, made announcement of the entry to the Lodge of "Right Worshipful Brother J. J. Miller, District-Deputy Grand Architect of the Universe."
Bro. Miller, carrying himself with all the dignity at his command, was received with the customary honours and conducted to the East, whereupon a Brother on the floor was overheard in a remark to his friend alongside: "He may not be the Grand Architect of the Universe but he blooming well thinks he is."
A host of Masonic friends throughout the Pacific Northwest wish him well in his new appointment.
