1879 Married Ruth J. Newcombe.
1880-3 Sketched in Europe and mid-East.
1883 Briefly returned to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
1883-90 Auckland, New Zealand and Tasmania.
1891 First came to Vancouver.
1893 Exhibit at Chicago World’s Fair and Royal Canadian Academy 1893 - 1903.
1893 Affiliated with Cascade Lodge No. 12 A.F. & A.M. on 16 October.
1894 First secretary of the Art, Historical and Scientific Association (AHSA).
1894 Left Vancouver to travel.
1898 Settled in Vancouver: 1871 West Broadway.
1900 25 April: Founding member of the Vancouver Arts and Crafts Association (VACA).
1904 Exhibited in Winnipeg
1905 Appointed curator of the Vancouver Museum.
1906 Exhibited in Winnipeg, and Canadian National Exhibition, Toronto.
1908 13 November: organizing meeting of British Columbia Society of Fine Arts (BCSFA).
1911 Listed in Who’s Who in Western Canada.
1912 Resigned as curator of the Vancouver Museum.
1919 Last exhibit with the BCSFA. Ruth dies 17 November, 1919.
1921 Resigned from BCSFA, resided at 1259 Georgia before moving to Banff, Alberta.
1924 Died 24 March, Calgary., Alberta, Canada.
