[Charles Edwin Thompson]
September 17, 1890 - April 19, 1966
Originally from Grey County, Ontario, Charles Thompson served as Vancouver mayor for 1949-50.
Teacher, rancher, automotive dealer, and from 1945 to 1948 an alderman, Thompson’s moyorality was marred by restrictions on civil liberties through a policy requiring all civic employees to be screened for communist sympathies.
